Looking Good Doesn’t Cost that Much

Have you ever been told how great you look and you have not done anything special and yet other times you have spent a lot of money and nobody really notices, except your bank balance.  It’s the old story on spending money on looks, looking good starts with the attitude and a fool and his money is easily parted.

To look good you got to feel good, so start with your health. Stop drinking the alcohol and start hitting the exercise regime.  Running or walking in the fresh air will give you a tremendous health improvement and best of all it is free. You probably have some exercise machine you purchased with the right intentions but never followed through with, well now is the time to use it, again at no cost. Save the money you would have spent the beauty salon, day spa and the like and use it on a gym membership. You don’t need to those high costs gyms with all the bells and whistles either, these do not make you fitter they just make you pay more money. Look at the local YMCA or community center, they may have what you need at the price you need it.

Use of the high cost creams, lotions and cosmetics has always been question over the additional benefits they provide over the must cheaper versions, now is the time to find out. There is enormous money to be saved here and you will find the less expensive ones are just as good. You can save on your hair costs by looking for alternative providers of what you need. There are plenty of hairdressing schools that charge a fraction of the price of beauty salons, you could color your hair at home for the price of the hair coloring product from the supermarket and hey you can always get your hair cut by someone in the family that may have an unlikely skill here.

Manicures and pedicures fall within the same boat, you can do this yourself or team up with a friend. Another high cost habit is dry cleaning. This maybe affordable during good times but when you need to watch you money, then you should be washing and ironing your own clothes. Clothes washing is easy and not an effort in time. You can do the ironing whilst you are watching TV, talking to your friends on a speaker phone or listening to your favorite music.

Handbag styles explained

This article provides a rundown on common handbag style termonologies. It also provides additional tips on size, fabrication and price.

The handbag has been a consistent part of a woman’s wardrobe since the early 1900’s. Virtually no woman leaves home without one and many women own many more then one. This has lead to designers coming up with idea after idea in the handbag market. Handbags are available in every manner of style, size, fabrication and price point.

Styles

Some of the most common style terms are listed below:

Top handle-a standard handbag which has a short hand held handle.

Shoulder bag-a handbag which has a strap long enough to be worn over the shoulder.

Clutch-small hand held purse, typically used for special occasions.

Hobo-the hobo style handbag is shaped a bit like a U or saddle bag.

Framed-a handbag with a metal opening that clips together and provides the bags structure. Typically the rest of the bag is constructed from fabric.

Tote-a large rectangular bag that usually doesn’t have any fastenings at the top, perfect for carrying magazines or paper work.

Messenger-have a strap which goes across the body, they are crossed between a shoulder bag and a backpack.

Round handle-these bags are attached to two round circles that form the handles and support for the bag.

Handles are often made from bamboo.

Drawstring-feature a drawstring mechanism to do up rather then zips or magnetic closures.

Size

Handbags come in a wide range of sizes from tiny clutch purses to huge oversized totes. To choose an appropriate handbag size you need to consider what you’d like to carry in it and your body type. Handbags work with the rules of proportion; for example, if you are a large build you should choose a decent size bag.

Fabrication

Handbags are made from a wide variety of fabrications like; leather, suede, straw, raffia, fabric and pvc. Make sure you choose a handbag in a fabrication that is suitable for its intended purpose. For example, a velvet fabric handbag would be suitable for special occasions, but a canvas tote or straw shoulder bag would be far more suited to a day at the beach.

Price

Handbags start from only a few dollars and extend into the many thousands of dollars. If you select a classic style handbag it is often worthwhile investing in a good one. You can afford to outlay a reasonable amount of money on a handbag because they do not become obsolete with small weight fluctuations. However, before spending the money on a designer handbag always ask yourself whether you would buy the style if it didn’t have the logo.

When it comes to choosing a handbag also consider how comfortable it feels to carry and the types of outfits you intend on wearing with it. If you intend on wearing the bag with business attire a structured handbag will look good, but if it’s to be worn with soft feminine clothing a slouchier bag might be better.

How To Make Your Hair Pretty!

Pretty hair is what every women wants! It does take some time and energy but in the end will be worth it all the way!

Magazines and the media are bombarded with models and actors that have gorgeous looks. They make viewers often look back at themselves and wonder how they can duplicate the same look. Hair is one of the first things we notice about people, and we can tend to be envious when we see someone with amazing hair. There are things that can be done to achieve healthy and great looking hair.

The first thing you might want to do is find a good hair dresser. This person does not have to be from a fancy high priced salon, but simply someone who loves hair and knows what they are talking about. Your hairdresser should be able to tell you how to make your hair as healthy as possible, and if they tell you that bleaching it is okay then you need to find someone else! You want someone who will tell you the truth and not just what will make an expensive sell.

A professional hair stylist will give you some advice about what kind of hair cut, how often you should have it cut and what coloring is best for healthier hair. For example, dying your hair blond and then back to dark a few times a year will do damage that will make your hair look unhealthy. A lot of people dye their hair light in the summer and dark in the winter, but if your hair needs some therapy then it might not be the best route.

Once you figure out what is happening with your hair as far as goals are concerned it is easier to create healthy pretty hair. Your hair stylist might also have suggested some better styling products such as using a blow dryer but not the flattening iron or curlers that can dry out hair. A new hair cut and one every six weeks might shape your hair better and have it grow faster due to the healthy way it is now getting cut. Realizing that you are now doing things to improve your hair will make you feel better about yourself and your hair goals.

There are products you can buy to keep your hair as healthy as possible. Hair masks are great products for creating more moisture in the hair. These packages can be purchased and applied to the hair usually when it is damp. The product stays on for a certain amount of time and is then washed out.

Some people use home remedies on their hair to make masks. Some ingredients such as raw egg, mayonnaise, beer, and honey come to mind. However it seems like a big mess, so unless you live really far from a drugstore, you might want to just try something easier and that smells nice.

Using great conditioners will also create pretty hair. Most hairdressers will recommend professional styling products that do not contain the harsh chemicals that are found in some hair shampoo and conditioner bottles. They feel that the more expensive bottles and products are better for your hair. So if you can afford to spend the amount necessary for salon type conditioner in might be worth it, you can even just use it until your hair is super shinny and healthy again.

Having pretty hair takes work! And it usually happens from the inside out, so take care of it and spoil it with good things. As your hair becomes healthier, it will radiant itself into the best hair you have ever had.

Dress and look nice on a budget.

Here are some tips to stay looking nice even if you have a small budget.

Everyone wants to look nice. No one intends to look less than their best. Sometimes being low on money can have this effect however. While who a person is and what they do means much more than appearance, it is good to take care of yourself. If you need some new (new for you, anyway!) clothes, you have a few options.

One option is to visit a thrift store, such as Goodwill to purchase some clothing items. If you have never given thrift shops a chance, you will be surprised at the quality of clothes you find there. Some look like they have never been worn.

Another place you can get clothes is on freecycle. Every county has a freecycle list. To find the one in your county go to freecycle.com and search for you area. Click on the link. That link will take you to your local freecycle group on yahoogroups. Join. Post an email stating what you need and what size you wear.

To get an affordable haircut, find the nearest beauty school near you. Many community colleges have them. On certain days at certain times, the beauty students cut, color, and perm hair for a very reduced fee.

For skincare ,make-up, and shampoo keep your eye open for sales. Small drug stores such as Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid often have good sales on these items. The sale, coupled with a coupon from the Sunday paper, can really save you a lot of money. If you get a really good deal and you can afford it, stock up a bit.

By following these tips, no one will guess your budget is small and you won't feel deprived.
